Open the note and pull down to refresh. If the status is still "Failed," tap Retry in the note menu. Most failures are transient network issues. If retry fails three times, email us with the note title and we'll investigate.
Capture works offline — audio queues on your device and uploads when you reconnect. Transcription, Ava Heard, and Ask Ava need a connection because they run on our servers (not on-device).
Ava transcribes in 100+ languages. The interface launches in English; we're adding Spanish, German, French, and Japanese in the months after launch — vote for what you need in-app.
On every note, an Ava Heard card surfaces the todos, events, and follow-ups Ava heard you mention. One tap routes each item: Add to Reminders, drop in Calendar, or open Mail with a drafted email. Nothing is written without your explicit tap.
By design. AvaNotes never writes to your Apple ecosystem without you tapping the action. We never read your existing reminders, calendar, or contacts — so Ava can't deduplicate or auto-route. You stay in control.
Yes. When Ava hears "email Sarah about Q3," tapping the action opens Mail with the relevant excerpt prefilled. You add the recipient and review before sending — we never send mail on your behalf.
Semantic search across your own library only. Ask in natural language ("What did I decide about pricing last week?") and Ava returns the relevant note, plays the audio, and cites the exact quote. Pro users get time-aware search ("last week", "in October").
AI responses can be incorrect, especially when underlying notes are short or ambiguous. In every Ask Ava response, tap the citation to see which note Ava pulled from — verify against the original audio if it matters. If Ava is consistently wrong, send us a screenshot and we'll look at the prompt chain.
Tap any name that appears in Ava Heard or in the knowledge graph view (Library → Graph). Every note that mentions them, in chronological order, with audio.

Subscriptions are billed by Apple. To cancel: iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → AvaNotes → Cancel Subscription. You keep Pro access until the end of your current period.
Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find the AvaNotes purchase, and request a refund. Apple's decision is final — but email us if the request was denied due to a technical issue on our side.
Sign in with the same Apple ID on the new device. Open AvaNotes and tap Restore Purchases in Settings — Pro should re-activate immediately.
App → Settings → Account → Delete Account. Confirm twice. Within 7 days all of your notes, audio, transcripts, and account record are erased. Export first if you want to keep anything (Settings → Export).
A Pro feature: Ava's spoken replies stream through Apple's premium cloud TTS model, sounding warmer and more natural than the on-device voice. Toggle in Settings → Ava's Voice → Studio Voice. Free users get the great on-device Apple voice.
Settings → Daily Briefing. Choose your time (default 8 AM local), or switch it off entirely. The home screen still shows today's items — the notification is opt-in.
